"During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." George Orwell
Should this be the case then I suspect Mr. Wiliam McGurn of the Wall Street Journal and Mr. Kevin Hassett of Bloomberg are marking their territory as revolutionaries. As noted on far too many occasions to list, the present day media has done a dreadful job at reporting on the economic "plan" of the President Obama. While I hasten to add that this was expected given that "Candidate Obama" came to the table with a strategy that simply noted "change", the media as well as new administration is deserving of the lowest possible grade, unless you consider destroying capitalism and the economic foundation the nation was built upon succesful.
While I have been highly critical of a so-called media, albeit much of the dreaded "citizen-journalist" only capable of "literary genius" within 160 characters, who have bowed in reverence to an administration that is raping the nation of capitalism, both of the these men deserve enormous credit for drawing the line and presenting factual information.
In Mr. McGurn's WSJ column, "The Media Fall for Phony 'Jobs' Claims", he perfectly details how the media has wrongfully presented unemployment numbers in the United States and equally how the administration has facilitated erroneous reports with a clever piece of wording. Noting the distortion of the Obama administrations use of the term of jobs "saved or created", Mr. McGurn points out the lack of factual information being presented to the public.
With respects to Mr. Hassett's piece titled "Obama Tells American Businesses to Drop Dead" on Bloomberg he directly reflects the present administrations stated tactic that they squeeze billions of dollars from American corporations and that they didn’t care of the repercussions as they were getting the money. Shocking of-course and highly inflammatory but such was the straight-forward edict from Larry Summers who serves as Director of the White House's National Economic Council for President Obama in a high powered business meeting with prominent two weeks ago.
Both men should be heralded for their work and hopefully in-time others will follow.
